Berlin during Major Events: What to consider?
In Berlin, there are countless major events ranging from marathons, parades and rallies to international trade fairs, which have a significant impact on traffic every year and ensure that hotels are fully booked.
During runs, parades, rallies and demonstrations, the respective routes or a single street are closed to public traffic. In some cases, it is then impossible to get to places of interest that are in the immediate vicinity. During trade fairs, endless traffic jams and full hotels are the order of the day.
Wouldn't it be a shame, if you had to travel at short notice, if you only had the option of staying either in a very expensive hotel or in accommodation far outside the city? And would there be anything worse than the sight that you really wanted to experience up close being closed off on that one day that you have time?
Sometimes sights and museums are also closed on certain days. For example, if you are standing in front of the museum of your choice and suddenly find out that it is closed on that day of all days, things have gone stupid, and the anger is great.
Such adversities spoil the stay, and the inclined visitor to Berlin should avoid them at all costs. Be aware of this and plan your Berlin stay accordingly. Sometimes it is advisable to consider an alternative date for the Berlin visit.
